Community first responders (CFRs) are highly trained volunteers across the east of England who respond to life-threatening 999 medical calls in their own communities.
Because they live locally, CFRs are often first on scene delivering vital, life-saving care until an ambulance arrives. Their work saves lives, reduces pressure on ambulances crews, and strengthens community resilience particularly in rural areas.
CFRs in your community:
- are trained and directly dispatched by EEAST
- live locally, enabling a rapid response
- attend life-threatening emergencies
- volunteer flexibly alongside work and family life, day or night
- provide falls response (if they have received the additional training), reducing avoidable ambulance dispatch to non- injury falls
- deliver free CPR and defibrillator awareness at community events through EEAST Heart
- fundraise for extra equipment, training aids, additional uniforms and more.
Your generosity enables CFRs to respond quickly, save lives and continue supporting communities when they are needed most.
You can choose for your donation to help support all CFRs across the east of England, or a specific county of your choice.
Funds raised directly support:
- additional training days
- volunteer recognition
- essential equipment and resources.
Donate via our main Just Giving page and clearly state your preference in the message box. For example 'Essex CFRs' or 'All CFRs', to ensure your donation is directed accordingly.
