The East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust's (EEAST) Patient Safety Team are finalists in the 'Patient Safety Team of the Year' category at the HSJ Patient Safety Awards 2025, which celebrates outstanding work to improve patient safety and care across the UK.

The new framework, launched in October 2023, ensures that there is a strong focus on learning from patient safety incidents, and improving patient safety within the Trust.
To be successfully shortlisted, the team had to evidence that they are improving the quality of care for patients through their patient safety reviews; that they are fully supported by the executive team in embedding the framework; and that they are engaging with staff and patients in order to learn from incidents and make positive changes to patient care.
Liam Dunn, Head of Patient Safety at EEAST, said: "We are thrilled to be shortlisted for the 'Patient Safety Team of the Year’' award at this year's HSJ Patient Safety Awards. Patient safety is right at the heart of the care we provide as an ambulance service. For the work of the team to be recognised in this way is fantastic, and demonstrates the hard work and dedication of the patient safety team. It's a privilege to lead such a dedicated group of professionals."
The winners will be announced at the HSJ Patient Safety Awards ceremony on 15 September 2025 in central London.
