Saving Lives, investing in our people and supporting our partners. The new EEAST strategy.
Date: 15 May 2025The needs of our patients and communities are ever-changing and the demand for urgent and emergency services continues to rise. The East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EEAST) must continue to improve and develop to effectively respond to these needs in the east of England.

The new EEAST strategy 2025-30 sets out the path for the next five years and highlights our ambitions, designed by our people, partners and patients.
It sets out how we will develop our role, not just as responders, but as leaders who can drive innovation and collaboration across our region. It sets out the next stage of our journey, not only continuing to improve but embracing bold, innovative approaches to the way we work. The strategy, which was formally approved and launched at the Trust’s May Public Board meeting, highlights the four missions for EEAST, developed following the Trust’s most significant engagement programme to date.
- Patient mission: To provide high-quality urgent and emergency care that is fair, responsive and focused on patient need.
- People mission: To provide a supportive, inclusive and empowering environment for our people. It will support individual and organisational performance.
- Partnership mission: To connect patients to the best care, at the right time, first time, every time through working with our partners.
- Productivity mission: To be an innovative, efficient and sustainable healthcare partner, to meet the needs of our communities within the resources available to us.
Under pinning our plans and how we will work to deliver these are the newly launched Trust values and behaviours. Earlier this year as the Trust strategy took shape, so did the changes to our values. These evolved from five to three new values through the consultation and input of over a thousand colleagues.
Our three new values are:
- We are Accountable
- We are Respectful
- We strive to be Excellent
As we begin this new journey together, with our people, our partners, and our patients, we are excited to build the future of urgent and emergency care for the east of England.
