Completing a half marathon is an accomplishment in itself, but Luke took his challenge to an entirely new level. He ran the entire route in full ambulance uniform, carrying a responder bag that increased from the planned 8kg to 11kg on race day, adding intensity to an already extraordinary challenge.

Luke commented:
“I ran the half marathon in full uniform and carried a responder bag to represent the weight responders carry into our daily lives. I’m raising money for the East of England Ambulance Service Charity, but also awareness around mental health in the emergency services. If you can’t donate, I hope this encourages you to reach out and talk to someone if you're struggling – or check in on someone you haven’t heard from in a while.”

Luke’s challenge has so far raised an incredible £1,180 for the East of England Ambulance Service Charity, which with will help support the staff, volunteer, patients and communities of EEAST.

Kate Lott, Head of Charity said: "Luke’s dedication is truly inspiring. His determination to support the ambulance service community is exceptional, demonstrating the power of an individual to make a meaningful difference. The funds and awareness he has raised are vital, not only in supporting frontline services but also in highlighting the importance of mental health and wellbeing for those who care for others every day. We are incredibly grateful to Luke for his outstanding effort and commitment to our charity."
