The award celebrates the charity's role in delivering projects that go beyond core NHS funding, helping improve patient outcomes, support frontline staff and strengthen services for local communities.

Behind each project is the generosity of supporters who choose to donate, fundraise, volunteer and partner with the charity. Their contributions help fund initiatives that make a real and lasting difference to patients, staff, volunteers and communities.

Over the past year, the charity has raised over £700,000* which has supported numerous projects that would not otherwise be possible through NHS funding alone. This includes the UKs first real time video guidance for members of the public performing CPR, dedicated volunteer community response vehicles, welfare wagons, and wellbeing gardens for staff and volunteers.

Together, these initiatives help improve patient outcomes, enhance emergency response capabilities and support the wellbeing of the people who deliver lifesaving care every day.

Despite being a team of just four people with the majority working part time, the charity team works tirelessly to transform the generosity of supporters into projects that create tangible benefits to the patients and people of the Trust.

The charity was announced as the winner at the Stars of EEAST awards ceremony, which celebrates the dedication, compassion and achievements of staff and volunteers from across the Trust. This year, the awards received 456 nominations.

Chris McGregor, Deputy Director ((Volunteers, Co-Response & NEPTS), said:

"I’m incredibly proud of the team receiving this award. While it recognises the work of this dedicated team, it also is a real reflection of the generosity and commitment of our supporters.

"Every donation, fundraising effort, volunteer contribution and partnership helps us fund projects that improve patient care, support our people and strengthen the ambulance service for local communities.

"Thank you to everyone who supports the charity. This award belongs to all of you and celebrates what we can achieve together."

Neill Moloney, Chief Executive of EEAST, said:

"The impact of the East of England Ambulance Service Charity can be seen right across our organisation, from initiatives that help save lives to projects that support the wellbeing of our staff and volunteers."

"This award is thoroughly deserved, recognition of a small team delivering an extraordinary contribution to our patients, our people and the communities we serve. I would like to thank the team and everyone who supports the charity for the difference they make."
