Respondents of a recent survey on our services were piling on the praise with comments such as 'top class', 'excellent', and 'very professional' highlighting just a few of the many compliments used to describe road crews and control room staff.

More than 90 people who used the service in June completed our survey, with 94% of respondents describing the overall service they received as either very satisfactory or satisfactory.

A patient from south-west Essex said: “They put me completely at ease and I wouldn’t have made it without them, they are a real credit to the NHS.” Another patient, this time from East Norfolk said: "The crews were very professional when they arrived at my son's accident, both my son and myself would like to say thank you for the great work that was done that day and always do, we are extremely grateful."

The comments come as health watchdog inspectors the Care Quality Commission report deemed as giving outstanding care in its latest report.

Figures from the patient experience survey report published recently revealed that 98% of respondents rated the handling of their call as very acceptable, acceptable or fairly acceptable and 99% were very satisfied, satisfied, or fairly satisfied with the care they received. Control rooms at EEAST were rated as ‘good’ in the CQC report released on Tuesday (9th August).

Robert Morton, Chief Executive of EEAST, said: “My thanks to everyone who has taken the time to complete our recent survey, we find all feedback extremely valuable and will do all we can to continue to improve this fantastic service.”

He added: “The responses in this survey show that time and again our staff are providing a level of care that is second to none and for that I want to thank everyone, I’m extremely proud of the professional standards they set themselves.”

The report shows areas for improvement, with 8% describing the length of wait for the ambulance as unacceptable or very unacceptable and 1% who found the cleanliness of equipment used as unacceptable.
