Talks with Police leaders on delivering better emergency call responses

Senior management from the East of England Ambulance Service Trust (EEAST) and police leaders from across the region recently came together to discuss how to deliver better responses to emergency calls.
 
Chief Executive Dorothy Hosein, Chief Operating Officer Marcus Bailey and other EEAST representatives met with senior management from Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk police forces to develop more collaborative approaches to issues driving high demand, including mental health and concerns for welfare.
 
The approaches discussed included improving service to the public and helping ambulance and police crews with coordinated expert advice, training and support to manage members of the public with complex needs.
 
Leaders will convene again in January and throughout 2020 to deliver the improvements discussed.
