Representing EEAST at the Special Olympics World Games 2019

Two paramedics from the Trust are part of the Special Olympics World Games in Abu Dhabi 2019.
Over 7,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities from 192 countries have gone to United Arab Emirates to compete in 24 sports.
As venue medical advisors working in the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, our Paramedics, Richard Webber (West Essex) and Helen Goodwin (South East Essex) have been responsible for planning and overseeing the medical care in the venue for 11 of the sports.
Richard, also the lead planner for the opening and closing ceremonies, will be directing the medical care delivery for the 10,000 athletes and delegates taking part in the Opening Ceremony.
The Opening Ceremony of the Special Olympics 2019 was at 3pm on Thursday 14th March and the Games run for seven days with some of it being televised.
