Ambulance staff, managers and volunteers have been thanked for their efforts during a busy holiday weekend.

 

The East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EEAST) received more than 10,000 emergency calls over the course of the first May Day bank holiday weekend.

 

Demand was up across all six counties compared with the same period last year.

Sunday (6th May) was the busiest day of the weekend with more than 3,900 calls received across the Trust.

Bedfordshire: 1,024 (869)

Cambridgeshire: 1,351 (1,200)

Essex: 3,280 (2,932)

Herts: 1,588 (1,400)

Norfolk: 1,785 (1,454)

Suffolk: 1,459 (1,142)
