Making the Quality grade!
Date: 30 May 2018
Three ambulance service staff have gained a nationally-recognised quality status.
Area Clinical Lead David Allen, Head of Quality Improvement Lewis Andrews, and Quality Improvement and Professional Standards Officer Paramedic Nikki Smith have been accredited by NHS Improvement’s ACT Academy as Quality, service improvement and redesign (QSIR) Teaching Faculty Associates.
The QSIR programmes focus on service improvement and are delivered to a range of staff involved in healthcare, offering a unique opportunity to develop quality and efficiency improvement capability and enabling them to rapidly build up a sustainable local skills base. This accreditation will allow the trio to deliver the QSIR programme within EEAST.
Acting Director of Nursing and Clinical Quality Tracy Nicholls said this week: “I am delighted that we have three QSIR faculty associates in the organisation now. It is all part of the quality improvement evolution which Lewis and the wider team have taken EEAST through for two years now. In June, we will also connect with the Eastern Academic Health Science Network to further bolster our work and approach, and ensure we’re getting all teams fully conversant in quality improvement.”
