Kind donation for Suffolk responder group

Date: 24 August 2017

A community first responder group (CFR) group in Suffolk has received a financial boost to help save more lives.

The Stutton and Holbrook CFR group received £500 from the East of England Co-op.

The generous donation came after the group was selected by the Co-op, along with three other charities, to participate in the green token awards from 1st April until 30th June.

The boxes for depositing the tokens were situated in the three stores at Holbrook, Brantham and Manningtree. At the end of the period, all the green tokens were counted and the money was divided up depending on the amount of tokens each one received. The Stutton and Holbrook CFR group came out on top.

Adrian Garnham, Coordinator of the CFR group, said: “We would like to thank the Co-op and the people who deposited the tokens for us. A new set of up to date kitbags have been ordered and these will help us save more seriously unwell patients.”

CFRs are trained by the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust to respond to medical emergencies such as cardiac arrests, allergic reactions, diabetes emergencies and patients with breathing difficulties and chest pain whilst the ambulance is on its way
