Keep warm to keep well during wintry weather

Weather warnings are in the place for this week for severe cold, ice and snow, which is expected to bring disruption across the East of England.

Here at EEAST, we have plans in place to deal with bouts of extreme weather conditions.

We’d urge everyone to keep a close eye on Met Office weather warnings and to heed the advice of forecasters.

During really cold weather, we expect to get an increase in calls relating to falls and some patients are more vulnerable to suffering breathing difficulties and chest pain.

It could take extra time for our crews to reach patients during difficult driving conditions and we’d urge people to only call us if it is a life-threatening emergency.

We’d urge people to keep warm to keep well and to look after vulnerable relatives and neighbours. If you are heading out, take care on roads and paths and be prepared for travel disruption.
