Cambridgeshire-based ambulances staff teamed up with emergency service colleagues to test their decontamination skills at an exercise

Staff from the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust joined up with fellow emergency services colleagues from Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue (CFRS) Service and Cambridgeshire Constabulary on Monday (26th March) in Milton, South Cambridgeshire for the training. The aim of the exercise was to allow the teams to practice their response skills with some live acting patients, and work alongside partner agencies using the JESIP principles.

A fire service spokesman said: “Crews from Cambridge and Burwell took part in a training exercise (Monday March 26) to test their response to a chemical incident.

“The crews worked alongside emergency service partners from the police and ambulance services to practice working together in a realistic scenario situation.

“Our crews organise regular exercises, with different scenarios, at locations across the county to test their skills and practice partnership working with other agencies.”
