Canvey Island Community First Responders Defibrillators Presentation

This weekend (21st/22nd April) Canvey Island CFR group launched a further three public access defibrillators on Canvey to add to the eight existing public access defibrillators.

The new additions will be available at the Island Yacht Club, Kings Park Village and Fantasy Island

It is with huge thanks to the following donors that these latest devices have been purchased:

  • The family and friends of Alan Dudbridge
  • The Frost family The Rotary Club of Canvey Island
  • The Island Yacht club
  • Brian and Ann Keenleyside

Plus other charitable collections from the last year. The Canvey Island CFR group and East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust would like to thank the people of Cavany Island for their generosity and support.

In the UK, approximately 30,000 people suffer a cardiac arrest outside of the hospital environment; they can affect anyone at any time.

If people are treated quickly, and correctly chance of survival is good but, for every minute without CPR or defibrillation, your chances of survival fall by 7-10 per cent.
