18566 - Transport Procedure

North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust has received an query relating to a procedure/protocol for patients with a pre-diagnosed aneurysm that paramedics believe has ruptured.

Am we correct in thinking that these patients would be taken directly to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, rather than to Peterborough City Hospital or Hinchingbrooke Hospital.

  • Are you able to confirm if this is correct?
  • Do you have a written procedure/protocol for this?  If so, can you provide a copy please?
  • When was the procedure/protocol put into effect?
