Currently EEAST does not employ the use of anti-psychotic medication for treatment.
We are currently reviewing the treatment of Acute Behavioural Disturbance / Excited Delirium recognising that this is now a recognised medical emergency that requires the addition of chemicals sedation as part of a treatment escalation plan. We are taking National Guidance and reviewing evidence based practice with regards to what medicine(s) should be used for this acknowledging that there is no one right agent of choice for this treatment.
