How many patients were attended to with an mpd code of 'breathing problems' or 'respiratory arrest' or 111 calls where pulmonary embolism was flagged?
Please find attached the spread sheet FOI – 15423, we have been able to provide you with the number of patients attended in the year 2017 with the code ‘Breathing Problems’ and the number of patients attended in the year 2017 with the code ‘Cardiac or Respiratory Arrest/Death’. The Trust does not have a specific flag on the call log for those patients suffering with a pulmonary embolism.
In order to establish the number of patients who were suffering with a pulmonary embolism, the Trust would be required to look through each individual Patient Care Record to find those records where the patient was having a suspected pulmonary embolism. The Trust has calculated that this would take longer than eighteen hours to extract and collate the information you required. Therefore this would exceed the appropriate limit as defined by the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and as such we are unable to answer your request under s.12 of the FOIA.
