  • Details:

    A complaint was received from the neighbour of a patient who was being attended to by an emergency ambulance. The complainant’s car was blocked in by the ambulance when there were plenty of spare parking spaces, and the crew member was rude when this was brought to her attention.

  • Findings:

    The crew member was very concerned that she had appeared to be confrontational and aggressive.

  • Lesson learnt / action taken:

    A notice has been displayed at ambulance stations regarding parking and, if time allows, the importance of making sure that emergency vehicles are not obstructing traffic.
