Commissioning for Quality and Innovation
The commissioning for quality and innovation (CQuIN) scheme is intended to deliver clinical quality improvements and drive transformational change and will impact on reducing inequalities in access to services, the experiences of using them and the outcomes achieved. Our CQuINs are agreed with our commissioners as part of our contract negotiations, however in response to the pandemic, NHSE&I stipulated that the national block contract arrangement agreed for 2020/21 was to be rolled over to 2021/22 and that no CQuIN scheme would be in place for the year. Negotiations relating to the 2022/23 contract are now taking place which includes CQuIN schemes.
