Police firearms medic (D13)
This course is designed to meet the requirements of the D13 regulations. We work hard to transfer the benefits of inter-agency working from the classroom into the field through close working partnerships with police services.
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Our BLS course is designed to meet the requirements of doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals seeking to update their knowledge and skills. We can adapt the course for non-healthcare professionals if necessary. This course takes approximately one to two hours.
Intermediate Life Support (ILS)
Our ILS course aims to train healthcare personnel in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), simple airway management and safe defibrillation, enabling them to manage patients in cardiac arrest until arrival of a cardiac arrest team and to participate as members of that team. We offer a one-day full course and half-day refresher course.
This course includes risk assessment, the theory of fire, prevention techniques, what to do in case of a fire and identifying a means of escape as well as identifying different types of fire-fighting equipment.
Basic Life Support + Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
Our AED course teaches the safe operation of a defibrillator and includes adult and paediatric basis life support (BLS) and suitable for anyone who has recently got a defibrillator. We can also offer shorter annual refresher courses to keep you up-to-date.
This course is suitable for doctors, nurses, other healthcare professionals, teachers or anyone who deals with allergy sufferers and includes the safe administration of adrenaline auto-injectors. This takes takes approximately one hour and is usually taught in addition to basis life support (BLS).
This course is designed to be compliant with the General Dental Council’s Standards for Dental Professionals and the Resuscitation Council (UK)’s Standards for Clinical Practice and Training for Dental Practitioners and Dental Care Professionals in general dental practice. It focuses on the ‘ABCDE’ approach to patient assessment, management of medical emergencies, drug administration, effective team working and assisting the ambulance, with the overarching value of putting the patient first. This course takes six hours but can be tailored to your requirements.
Level 2 award in Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW)
This one-day course is ideal for workplace first aiders or anyone who requires a comprehensive one day course. Certificates are valid for three years with a half-day annual refresher course strongly advised.
Falls assessment, treatment and prevention
This course is for carers and healthcare professionals who look after patients that are prone to, or at risk of falling. This course can be tailored to meet requirements, so do contact us to discuss your needs.
Level 3 award in First Aid at Work (FAW)
This three-day OFQUAL-regulated course is for higher risk workplaces such as factories and construction sites that require a more in-depth course. Certificates are valid for three years with a half-day annual refresher course strongly advised.
Moving and Handling of Patients and Loads
Our moving and handling course covers all aspects of manual handling including risk assessment, spine care, appropriate techniques and the law.
We are able to fulfill national contracts through our membership of the NHS Ambulance Service First Aid Training (NASFAT) consortium.
