Resilience Training

Competency-based incident management and support courses

By its very nature a major incident is complex, with many factors combining to influence that complexity.  It will involve a response by a range of services and organisations to resolve different aspects of the incident, but crucially having to work together.

Resilience training

The successful management of a major incident will call upon a variety of specialist areas of knowledge, skills and attitude of managers and support staff who would be expected to play a part in the response.  It is the responsibility of all to gain the appropriate development to enable them to meet the rigours of undertaking command roles within the management of a major incident.

Our courses will allow managers and others expected to undertake a role in the event of a major incident, to be able to access appropriate training, experience and development.

Rather than attending just one training event in major incident management once in their career, it is best practice that all attendees adopt a continuing professional development approach.  This will ensure that knowledge is up to date, skills are regularly practised and attitudes are influenced by the response to the most recent events.

Our prospectus is structured to enable training from operational level to strategic leadership. The courses are delivered by experts in their field who have years of experience in emergency preparedness and response. We are extremely proud that our courses have been accredited by the Emergency Planning Society.

We owe it to patients, relatives and responders to be able to manage the response to a major incident to the best of our ability and have a corporate responsibility to do so.

Download our 2012 brochure here for details of our courses run by our award winning Resilience department. You can also download our booking form here (word format).
