Wise up for Winter

Wise up for Winter

This winter your ambulance service wants you to be prepared, stay safe and well and enjoy the season.

Our winter campaign is about much more than 999 and is based on everyone being winter-wise – so let’s meet winter head-on,  learn to be prepared, to save lives, keep an eye on those who might need some extra help and spread the word about using NHS services in the best way possible.

Between November and March we will cover a broad range of topics, chosen because they each have an impact on ambulance services during winter months:

Snowflake Flu prevention, minor illness and when to call 999

Snowflake Road safety

Snowflake Slips, trips and falls

Snowflake Planning ahead and being resilient

Snowflake Drinking and celebrations

Snowflake How your ambulance service works in winter

Stay up to date with our latest news and information here.  We will be running a series of Twitterthons from our control rooms and working with our frontline crews. Plus blogs, short videos and Facebook web chats, general advice and directions to information about staying well.

Twitter followers will benefit from up-to-the-minute news and info about everything #winterwise.

Facebook users can visit the EEAST page for campaign updates, and comment on aspects of the campaign to give feedback about how they are using the ambulance service and their use of the NHS during this time.
