Wise up for Winter

Wise Up for Winter

This winter we want you to be prepared, stay safe and well and enjoy the season.

Our winter campaign is about much more than 999 and is based on everyone being #winterwise – so let’s meet winter head-on,  learn to be prepared, to save lives, keep an eye on those who might need some extra help and spread the word about using NHS services in the best way possible.

Between November and February we will cover a broad range of topics, chosen because they each have an impact on all ambulance services during winter months:

Snowflake Flu prevention and minor illness (self-care)

Snowflake When to call 999 and when other pathways may be more appropriate (GPs, Walk-in Centres, 111)

Snowflake Road safety and winter driving

Snowflake Drinking, celebrations and the Christmas party season

Snowflake Resilence and preparedness

Stay up to date with our latest news and information here.  We will be running a series of Twitterthons from our control rooms and working with our frontline crews. Plus blogs, short videos, general advice and directions to information about staying well.

Twitter followers will benefit from up-to-the-minute news and info about everything #winterwise.

Facebook users can visit the EEAST page for campaign updates, and comment on aspects of the campaign to give feedback about how they are using the ambulance service and their use of the NHS during this time.
