Woman rescued from Letchworth house

A woman had to be removed from a house via a second floor window following an abdominal illness earlier this afternoon, Tuesday, February 5.

The East of England Ambulance Service (EEAST) were alerted to an address in Pixmore Way at 1,34pm. Ambulance crews from Stevenage and Welwyn Garden City attended the scene. Due to the nature of the call, the ambulance service hazardous area response team (HART) was called to assist at the scene.

EEAST spokesman Gary Sanderson, who attended the incident said: “Due to access out of the property, it was decided the best route out safely was through the upstairs window. Paramedics and HART operative’s worked very with the fire service who removed a window which allowed the woman to be taken safely out of the house to the ambulance team below.”

The woman was taken to the Lister Hospital in Stevenage for further assessments.
