The East of England Ambulance Service (EEAST) can confirm an ambulance has been involved in a road traffic collision while conveying a patient from Great Totham in Maldon on blue lights to Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford earlier this morning (Friday, January 27) at 10.24am.
The incident took place on Main Road in Danbury and the ambulance was inl collision with a van and overturned in to a ditch. The three ambulance clinicians on board at the time of the collision were assessed on scene for minor injuries and have been taken to Broomfield Hospital.
The patient, a man, has also been conveyed by another ambulance to Broomfield Hospital.
Ambulance service spokesman Gary Sanderson said: "An immediate investigation has been launched by our Trust to find out the cause of the collision this morning and we are working closely with Essex Police.
