The Communications and Engagement Team

Communication links the Trust with patients, the public, media, stakeholders, partner organisations, staff and volunteers.
The communications team has a wide-ranging remit for all aspects of internal and external communications including:

  • Strategic communications
  • Media relations
  • External communications
  • Internal communications
  • Patient and public involvement and experience
  • Corporate identity

Our press office deals with enquiries from local, regional and national media.  It works very hard to try and provide a fast and efficient response.

The media communications managers can be contacted on the following numbers during normal office hours, These are for media enquiries only. Please use the Trustwide number for other general enquiries:

Gary Sanderson (covering Beds, Herts & Essex) on 07795 626854 or 01438 367395 and Lorna Marsh (covering Norfolk, Suffolk & Cambridgeshire) on 01603 422729.

If there is no answer, it is usually because we are dealing with other enquiries so please leave a message and we will get back to you. Alternatively you can e-mail us at: communications@eastamb.nhs.uk

We log all of our enquiries and aim to answer them to an agreed deadline.

Press releases are issued by the communications team and are available on the news area of this website.

Out of hours:

The communications team operates a on-call press officer rota to cover out of hours.   It has a dedicated number 07500 121368 which operates between 5.30pm - 8.30am Monday to Fridays and over weekends.

The out of hours press officer will notify press of major incidents that come to light through press releases and on the news section of this website.

The principle role of the on-call press officer is to deal with major incidents, such as a major road traffic accident involving multiple patients. Enquiries relating to incidents on previous days and minor  incidents will be dealt with on the next working day during normal office hours.
