The Trust serves the counties of Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk. The area is made up of:

  • Handled more than one million non-emergency patient journeys

  • In addition to emergency and non-emergency ambulance provision, we provide GP out of hours care in Norfolk and parts of Essex.

Our resources include: 

  • 273 frontline ambulances
  • 215 marked response cars
  • 237 non-emergency ambulances
  • 25 major incident vehicles with decontamination equipment, plus mobile control rooms
  • 110 ambulance stations and response posts
  • Three health and emergency operations centres (HEOCs or control rooms)
  • We employ nearly 4,000 staff and more than 2,500 volunteers
  • Our total income in 2010/11 was more than £222 million
